With a heavy heart and cloudy mind
She says goodbye.
It is the end of a chapter
An era, or perhaps the whole damn book.
Perhaps she will rise like the lost city of Atlantis
Perhaps she will fall like Rome.
And so she packs her bags,
With a heavy heart and cloudy mind,
As she hopes to make riches from her rags,
She hopes to god that time can drag,
Before she has to
To spend the last few days
with the ones she loves;
To keep her head high and
But time knows no drag
In her heavy heart and cloudy mind.
She kisses them each in turn,
Like fire, her tears burn,
Like disease, her tears weaken,
Until there is nothing left but,
the girl with the heavy heart
and cloudy mind.
